This lodge is set on the shores of the spectacular Lake Tanganyika, the seventh largest lake in the world, measuring approximately 650km in length.
The lodge is constructed from stone and thatch and blends in superbly with the surroundings.
The underlying theme of the lodge is to offer a private retreat for relaxation that compliments the safari adventures in the area. While the site itself is only 3 Hectares, the activities will be concentrated on the lake and surrounding areas.
Activities could include boating, fishing, canoeing, snorkeling, diving and walking trails. For the adventurous operator, overnight boating excursions further afield will provide a variety of excursions. The Kalambo Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Africa, are only 8km away from the lodge; a few hours walk through Miombo woodlands, with wonderful views of the lake along the way.
Accommodation is provided for 14 guests in 7 stone-built, thatched chalets. The chalets are set amongst lush tropical gardens along the shoreline. Each chalet has it's own private verandah with magnificent views of the lake. A modern, open-air thatched building forms the comfortable bar and dining area with a large verandah overlooking the lake.
There are various other buildings on the property as the present owner operates a fish exporting business from the site. He has no interest in running a hospitality business, this is why he has chosen to put the lodge is on the market. Logistics of operating in this remote piece of Africa are such that while this lodge is ready to run, it is not for the feint hearted.
